Best Wishes to Chris Treiber
January 27, 2012
Chris Trieber joined AHRC New York City almost 22 years ago, working as a Social Worker for the Education Department. In September of 1995, Chris became the Director of Educational Advocacy. Since that time, Chris has advocated for countless families, represented children at Fair Hearings, provided guidance to families on their rights within the educational system, trained professionals on educational laws and regulations. He has also provided input to the state and the federal government regarding new regulations and has been a successful advocate with our Legislature and government officials.
Chris recently accepted a position as Inter Agency Council’s ( IAC) Associate Executive Director for Children’s Services, a newly created position, which calls for his skills and experience. Although, we are very sorry that Chris is leaving AHRC, this is a wonderful opportunity for him to expand his professional role in the field, and to advocate for an even greater number of children.
Chris has been the quintessential professional and a wonderful representative of AHRC’s Mission and values. He has gained the respect of everyone at AHRC and in the fields of special education and developmental disabilities.
We will miss Chris dearly and thank him for the wonderful years he spent at AHRC New York City.
